2017年,加入国际博协,现为遗产保护与能力建设部的负责人。任职期间,负责与文化遗产保护相关的运营项目,以及与博物馆主题相关的培训和提高认知活动。经常代表国际博协出席关于打击非法贩运文化遗产战略的国际会议。
在加入国际博协之前,曾是一名法律顾问和机构事务协调员。2008年至2015年,在联合国教科文组织担任联合专家致力于推动颁布于1970年《关于禁止和防止非法进出口文化财产和非法转让其所有权方法的公约》的实施。作为一名助理专家,积极促进了该公约的振兴,起草了许多关于文化物品流通的工作文件和法律公告。定期参加文化遗产保护法相关的国际会议,并作为发言人参与该主题下的区域性研讨会。
2006年至2008年,在比利时鲁汶大学取得法学硕士和艺术史硕士学位。2008年,在法国巴黎第一大学取得艺术市场硕士学位。
Sophie Delepierre is the Head of Heritage Protection and Capacity Building Department at the International Council of Museums (ICOM), which she joined in 2017. In this position, she leads operational programs related to protection of cultural heritage as well as training and awareness raising activities on museum’s related subjects. She regularly represents ICOM at international conferences on the strategies to fight the illicit trafficking of cultural property. Previously at ICOM, she was the Legal Advisor and Institutional Affairs Coordinator.
Before joining ICOM, she served as Associated Expert at UNESCO from 2008 to 2015. She worked on the implementation of the 1970 Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property. As Assistant Specialist, she actively contributed in the revitalization of this Convention and drafted numerous working documents and legal notices on the circulation of cultural goods. She also regularly participated in international conferences on the legal aspects of the cultural heritage protection and as speaker in regional workshops on this subject.
Sophie Delepierre holds a Master in Law and a Master in Art History from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium (2006 and 2008) and a Master in Art Market from the Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, France (2008).
