复旦大学研究员、博士生导师、国务院特贴专家。历任广东省文物考古研究所所长助理、广东省文物局副局长、广东省博物馆馆长等职，兼任国际博协亚太博物馆联盟理事、ICOM-CHINA副主席、中国博物馆协会常务理事。任广东博物馆馆长期间，实践新的博物馆运营理念，大幅提升博物馆的业务能力和服务水平。发表各类论文近50篇，主持各类展览20余项，其中《牵星过洋-万历时代的海贸传奇》《岭南印记-粤港澳考古成果展》分别获得全国博物馆十大精品陈列精品奖、国际及港澳台合作奖。另外，还曾获得过文化部创新奖、国家文物局科学技术与创新奖一等奖、田野考古奖一等奖等科研奖项，以及广东五一劳动奖章、广东省宣传文化思想战线领军人才、中宣部“四个一批”人才、全国先进工作者等荣誉。
Dr. Wei Jun is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Fudan University. He is an expert entitled to Government Special Allowance (GSA). He has successively served as the assistant director of Guangdong Institute of Archeology, deputy director of Guangdong Administration of Cultural Heritage, director of Guangdong Museum, etc. He is also a board member of ICOM ASPAC, vice chair of ICOM-CHINA, and executive board member of Chinese Museums Association. While he was serving as the director of Guangdong Museum, he greatly promoted the service capability and quality of the museum by practicing new philosophy in museum management. He has published nearly fifty academic papers, and presided over twenty exhibitions. In which, ‘Sailing the Seven Seas - Legend of Ming Maritime Trade During Wanli Era’ and ‘Historical Imprints of Lingnan - Major Archaeological Discoveries of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao’ have won the National Museum Top Ten Exhibitions Awards in the Excellent Award and the International and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Cooperation Award. Dr. Wei has also won academic awards including Innovation Award of the Ministry of Culture, first prize in Science, Technology and Innovation Award of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, first prize in Field Archaeology Award, etc., as well as Guangdong Labor Medal, Leading Cultural Talent of Guangdong, "The Four-Group" Talent of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and National Advanced Worker.
