Eastern Orthodoxy, along with Catholicism and Protestantism, is one of the three main Christian denominations. Originating in Byzantium, it is also known as Byzantine Orthodoxy. Following the collapse of the Byzantine Empire in 1453 CE, the center of Eastern Orthodoxy gradually shifted towards Moscow, and as the official religion of Russia, it has greatly influenced the country's development.

The exquisite and valuable religious objects on display in this section demonstrate the vigor and vibrancy of the Russian Orthodox religion. In this period, Russian craftsmanship and artistry reached their highest level of accomplishment.
