Pottery of the Neolithic Age

Ceramics of the Neolithic Age in China are extensively distributed, with large host of related cultural relics excavated in the South and North across the country. They are mainly spread in the south and North across the country They are mainly spread in the Yellow River valley, ache Yangtze River valley, the Southeast coastal areas, North China etc. of which the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River valley and the Yangtze River valley are noted for their painted pottery, the lower reaches are celebrated for both white and black pottery articles made with exquisite handicraft; pottery found in the Southeast coastal areas is represented by stamped hared pottery, and pottery objects in North China are characterized by their peculiar modellings full of national features to be wondered at. Pottery articles of various areas have the peculiarities of their own, but are intrinsically related with each other.
